How Do I Verify My Casino Account? A Complete Guide

In the digital world, online casinos have provided gamblers a convenient way to indulge in their favorite pastime. However, before one can start placing real money bets and enjoying your favorite games, it's crucial to complete a necessary step known as account verification (truth to be told, there are no verification online casinos on the market). This process varies in a big way from one online casino to another.

In this guide, I am going to explain each step you might need to take in order to verify your online casino account (it does not mean that you will have to do everything in my guide so don’t get afraid) along with useful tips based on my own experience playing in online casinos for more than a decade.

1. First Thing First, Make Sure You Entered Your Personal Info Correctly

This is a very important step that is often overlooked. Just take an extra few seconds to make sure you entered all your personal data (such as name and address) correctly. Otherwise, it might cost you days or even weeks trying to resolve this issue with support in the future.

2. Email Verification

Once registered, you'll likely need to verify your email address by clicking on a link sent to your email inbox. This is a straightforward step but crucial for communication between you and the casino.

3. Uploading Identification Documents

The step of uploading identification documents is crucial for verifying your casino account as it establishes your identity, age, and residency which are mandatory for legal and security reasons. Here’s a more detailed breakdown of the process.

By the way, I have a detailed guide on document types you might be asked so I won’t cover it in this guide.

The process of Uploading Identification Documents might look daunting initially, but it's fairly straightforward once you have all the necessary documents ready. This is a one-time process, crucial for a secure and compliant gaming experience. Here are the steps on how to upload these documents:

Scan or Photograph Your Documents:

  • Make sure the images are clear, with all details easily readable.

  • Use a scanner for better clarity or a smartphone camera with a good resolution.

  • Keep in mind that some casinos allow files of a certain format (like jpeg, png) and a certain size (for example, no more than 5 MB).

Access the Verification Section:

  • Log into your casino account and navigate to the verification section, often found under "My Account," "Profile," or "Verification."

Upload Your Documents:

  • Click on the upload button, usually represented with a plus (+) icon or labeled “Upload.” Select the relevant document from your device and confirm the upload.

  • Repeat this step for each document you need to upload.

Follow Instructions:

  • If there are specific instructions provided by the casino, like naming the files in a certain way or providing additional details, ensure you follow them.

Submit For Verification:

  • Once all necessary documents are uploaded, submit them for verification. Some platforms might have a “Submit” or “Send for Verification” button, so make sure you click on it to initiate the process.

If this process looks a bit too complicated or you don’t feel comfortable providing your personal data to some websites you don’t trust, there is a workaround. There are quite a few online casinos that do not require KYC (I have carefully made this rating by vetting all casinos by myself).

How to download documents in the right way?

Let’s go through the process one more time since in my experience some casinos are still struggling with it:

  • Make sure your documents are clearly readable.

  • Make sure your documents are within a photo frame, e.g. all margins are visible.

  • Make sure your documents are in the right format (e.g. PNG, JPEG etc).

  • Make sure your documents are not too big (you can compress them online for free if needed).

  • Make sure your documents are valid, e.g. not expired.

If you follow these rules, you are going to be fine.

How long does casino verification take?

Based on my experience, in most online casinos the account verification process is completed within 15 minutes given that you are not asked to provide any additional documents.

The quality of submitted documents affects the verification time in a big way. Let’s say you have sent not clearly readable documents. It would mean that a casino employee will have to verify your documents manually whereas normally it is done automatically. If this is the case, the verification process might take even a few days instead of a few minutes so keep it in mind.

The right way to verify your online casino account

The truth is that many online casino players verify their accounts in the wrong way. Sometimes they get away with it, but sometimes it causes all sorts of troubles that I have heard a lot in my complaints section.

This is how I always verify my online casino accounts.

Some online casinos do not require ID verification in order to play for real money. However, in case you win something and decide to withdraw real money, they will ask for ID verification. It might be very frustrating to find out that there is something wrong with your documents and that you will have to wait a few days before the issue gets resolved (it might not be resolved at all and your funds can get confiscated).

That’s why I always make my online casino account completely verified before depositing real money, even though an online casino does not require it. This way I can be sure that once I decide to cashout my winning there are no problems.
